As time ran out on the '60's, and on Pro-Tern's funding, the paper became a voice for social change and justice, one big editorial every week. Some of the best and most inspiring journalism in any University newspaper was to be found in these late '60's Pro-Tems. With the collapse of funding, and of the '60's dream, the less radical Pro-Tern of the 1970's emerged, but not until September, 1970, Vol.l0. True malaise and irrelevancy did not set in until around 1974, Vol.14.
